PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an RE-Ba-Cu-based oxide superconductive long body composed by forming a superconductive layer formed of an RE-Ba-Cu-based oxide on a long metal base material through a buffer layer by a PLD method, and having an excellent critical current density characteristic, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION : In the RE-Ba-Cu-based oxide superconductive long body, a superconductive layer formed of an RE-Ba-Cu-based oxide is formed on a metal base material through a buffer layer. The RE-Ba-Cu-based oxide superconductive long body is characterized in that the Ba composition of the RE-Ba-Cu-based oxide is smaller than a stoichiometric composition, and excels in a critical current density characteristic. In this case, RE is one or more of elements selected from Y, La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho and Er. COPYRIGHT : (C)2007, JPO&INPIT
