PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare-gas type dielectric discharge lamp wiht high lamp efficiency. SOLUTION : The rare-gas type dielectric barrier discharge lamp is equipped with a bulb 10, a discharge medium 12 containing rare gas sealed in the bulb 10, an internal electrode 13 arranged in the bulb 10, and an external electrode 15 arranged outside the bulb 10. The discharge medium 12 is a mixed gas of xenon and argon with a partial pressure ratio of a xenon of not smaller than 95% and not larger than 99.5%. In this structure, the rare-gas type dielectric barrier discharge lamp with high lamp efficiency is obtained. COPYRIGHT : (C)2010, JPO&INPIT
