PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet having both excellent magnetic characteristics and an excellent corrosion resistance. SOLUTION : The rare earth magnet 10 is furnished with : a magnet element 12 containing rare earth element(s); and a protection layer 14 provided on the magnet element 12, wherein the protection layer 14 contains polyphenylene sulfide resin and has a thickness of under 50 μm.
