PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide oxide amorphous particulates of high quality and extreme minuteness which have a uniform composition and stable fluorescent characteristics and a manufacturing method therefor, and to provide alpha sialon phosphor particulates and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION : The method for manufacturing oxide amorphous particulates comprises : a process of mixing previously a vapor of a compound (SiX) to become SiO2 by mixing with O2 gas and heating, a vapor of a compound (AlX) to become Al2O3 by mixing with O2 gas and heating, and an O2 gas; a process of adding immediately before the heating a vapor of a compound (MX) containing one or more elements selected from rare earth elements, alkali metal elements and alkaline earth metal elements; a process of performing a rapid heating to the above mixed vapors at a rate of 1, 000°C or more per second and of oxidizing fully the mixed vapors to produce an oxide; and then a process of performing a rapid cooling at a rate of 250°C or more per second to give oxide amorphous particulates.
