PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To separately and stably recover a plurality of respective rare metals from a metal-containing solution containing a plurality of the rare metals by an extraction chromatograph.
SOLUTION : When separating a group I of the metals adsorbed on an adsorbing part 2 and the group II of the metals led out of a column 1 along with the secondary waste liquid of the metal-containing solution by the extraction chromatograph passing the metal-containing solution 4 containing a plurality of the rare metals through the column 1 filled with the adsorbing part 2 of a resin impregnated with an extractant, the distribution ratio of the respective metals contained in the metal-containing solution 4 is preliminarily calculated and the metals are successively recovered from the metal with a low distribution ratio based on that the metals of the group II led out along with the secondary waste liquid are lead out in the order of the smaller distribution ratio. Thereafter, an eluent 6 is passed through the column 1 and the metals are successively recovered from the metal large in the distribution ratio based on that the metals of the group I led out along with the eluent 6 are led out in the order of the larger distribution ratio.
