PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a paste composition, which is applicable to minute pattern processing based on photolithography, and using a dispersion medium having no acute toxicity, can obtain a transparent composite membrane with a high refractive index. SOLUTION : The paste composition is obtained by polymerizing and curing a compound (B), in which a monovalent group having a polymerizable group and an ester group having -(-CH2-)m-OH (m is an integer of 1-3) at the terminal are connected to a cyclic six-membered ring including a cyclo ring and a benzene ring, in the presence of zirconium oxide particles or rare earth oxide particles (A) and an organic solvent (C).
