PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a processing liquid for forming a fluoride-coated film where a fluoride is a rare earth or an alkaline earth metal fluoride, especially the fluorides of Pr, Nd, Dy, Tb and Ho, enhancing the magnetic property of an NdFeB-based rare earth magnet including not only a sintered magnet but also a bond magnet and the like and to provide a method for producing the processing liquid. SOLUTION : A fluoride-containing solution is constituted of a colloidal solution where the rare earth or the alkaline earth metal fluoride is swollen and homogeneously dispersed in a solvent consisting mainly of alcohol.
