PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To improve corrosion resistance without metal plating or resin coating a rare-earth magnetic alloy. SOLUTION : A method of improving the corrosion resistance of the rare-earth magnetic alloy brings the surface of the R-Fe-B base or R-Fe-B-C base rare- earth magnetic alloy (wherein, R represents at least one kind of rare-earth elements; a part of Fe may be replaced by Co) into contact with a boron- containing solution. The rare-earth magnetic alloy that is obtained by this method has a smaller ratio of (Fe+Co)/B on the surface of the magnet than the ratio of (Fe+Co)/B in the entire magnet, and has a relatively high existing quantity of the rare-earth element on the outermost layer part.
