PURPOSE : A hydrogen occluded alloy electrode is provided to control a containing rate of nickel and bulk nickel on a surface of the hydrogen occluded alloy particle in order to improve a high power property.CONSTITUTION : A hydrogen occluded alloy electrode comprises hydrogen occluded alloy as an active material in a negative pole, a rare-earth element, magnesium, and aluminium. A crystal structure of the hydrogen occluded alloy has a mixed phase of at least one A2B7 type and a A5B19 type. A surface of the hydrogen occluded alloy particle contains more nickel than bulk nickel. A ratio(X/Y) of nickel containing rate X(wt%%) and a bulk nickel containing rate Y(wt%%) on the surface of the hydrogen occluded alloy particle satisfies an inequality, 1.0 © KIPO 2009
