PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth silicate single crystal little in discoloration and enhanced in transparency even if a Ce concentration is a concentration region higher than heretofore. SOLUTION : Al of >0.4 ppm and ≤50 ppm is incorporated into the rare earth silicate single crystal to regulate the transmittance at the Ce concentration of ≥0.6mol% and ≤5mol% and a wavelength of 450nm to ≥75%.
