PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To efficiently provide an excellent magnet compact by exhibiting a stable remarkable effect of improved coercive force regarding coercive force improvement owing to heat treatment on the magnet compact molded by mixing a Zn particle and an SmFeN magnet particle.SOLUTION : A magnet compact constituted of a rare earth magnet phase having a nitrogen compound containing Sm and Fe as a main component is provided which is produced by performing heat treatment on the compact obtained by molding raw material powder containing rare earth magnet powder having a nitrogen compound containing Sm and Fe as the main component. The magnet compact has structure in which Zn particles are dispersed in the magnet compact, and the oxygen concentration in the magnet compact is 1.5 mass% or less.
