PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst enabling a good redistribution processing of platinum, a platinum redistribution processing method by such the exhaust gas purification catalyst, and a metal oxide catalyst carrier particle capable of obtaining such the exhaust gas purification catalyst and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION : The metal oxide catalyst carrier particle contains a first and a second metal oxides, and has different compositions in the central portion and the outer coat portion. In the metal oxide catalyst carrier particle, the mol fraction of a metal constituting the first metal oxide in the central portion is higher than that of the metal constituting the first metal oxide in the outer coat portion and the mol fraction of a metal constituting the second metal oxide in the outer coat portion is higher than that of the metal constituting the second metal oxide in the central portion, and the second metal oxide is selected from a group consisting of oxides of alkaline earth metals and rare earths excluding ceria.
