PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an austenitic stainless steel for a flexible tube, which has largely improved high-temperature salt corrosion resistance than existing steel.
SOLUTION : The austenitic stainless steel superior in high-temperature salt corrosion resistance comprises, by mass%, 0.06% or less of C, 1-6% of Si, 0.2-5% of Mn, 0.04% or less of P, 0.02% or less of S, 8 to less than 14% of Cr, 7-15% of Ni, 1-5% of Mo, 0.2% or less of N, 0.0002-0.01% of B, 0 (no addition) to total 0.1% of one or more of REMs (rare-earth metals), 0.01-0.5% of Al, 0 (no addition) to 0.01% of Ca, 2.5% or less, excluding a part of 0.5% or more, of Cu, 0 (no addition) to 1.0% of Nb, 0 (no addition) to 1.0% of Ti, 0 (no addition) to 1.0% of V, and balance Fe with inevitable impurities; and has a composition in a range shown by hatching in the representative drawing.
