PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing an anisotropic exchange-spring magnet which has excellent magnet characteristics. SOLUTION : The production method for an anisotropic exchange-spring magnet consists of a process where an NdFeB based rare earth magnet alloy in which a hard magnetic phase and a soft magnetic phase having size of =0.1 μm is held at 750 to 900 deg.C for 30 min to 2 hr in a hydrogen current, is held at 750 to 900 deg.C for 30 min to 1 hr under the hydrogen partial pressure of <=1 Torr, and is cooled for 30 min to 1 hr under the hydrogen partial pressure of <=1 Torr to produce an alloy for an anisotropic exchange-spring magnet, and the alloy is pulverized into the size in the partially anisotropic region or less to obtain magnet powder a process where the magnet powder is compacted in the magnetic field obtain a compact and a process where the compact is subjected to discharge plasma sintering to obtain a bulk magnet.
