PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a new decomposition treatment agent for organic halides such as chloro-fluorocarbon capable of fixing fluorine and chlorine as stable and harmless alkaline-earth metal salts in a single reaction system without generating harmful substances such as acidic gas and carbon tetrachloride at all.SOLUTION : The carbon-containing alkaline-earth metal oxide is obtained by impregnating the alkaline-earth metal salt of an oxygen-containing organic compound in which the molar ratio between carbon and an alkaline-earth metal(s) lies within the range of 0.1 to 100 or a mixture of an organic compound and an alkaline-earth metal compound at least one of which comprises oxygen into an alkaline-earth metal oxide as necessary, and thereafter heating and decomposing the same at 873 to 1, 173 K in an inert gas or in a vacuum.COPYRIGHT : (C)2007, JPO&INPIT
