PURPOSE : A method for vegetation restoration of a quarry using broad-leaved tree chips by refilling stairs with quarry spoil, planting or sowing seed on the slope face of refilled stairs and spreading broad-leaved tree chips on the slope face is provided. The method enables the successful establishment of vegetation in the quarry area at low cost and does not need to hill up a large amount of soil to restore the quarry.
CONSTITUTION : The restoration method for vegetation of a quarry comprises : refilling stairs(10) with quarry spoil(20); arranging the slope face of the refilled stairs and hilling; planting or sowing seed on the slope face; spreading broad-leaved tree chips to a depth of 2 to 5cm; sowing seed with a lump of earth by hand and covering the broad-leaved tree chips with a net of a coarse straw mat. In the sowing process, 1, 150 to 2, 300g of seed is mixed with 90, 000 to 180, 000cm^3 of the lump of earth containing 50%% by weight of humus and 50%% by weight of mud. The seed contains 400 to 800g of Arundinella hirta, 400 to 800g of Lespedeza cyrtobotrya and 150 to 300g of pine tree and 200 to 400 of acacia.
