PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet for exhibiting sufficient corrosion-resistance properties even under high temperature and high humidity. SOLUTION : The preferred rare earth magnet 1 comprises a magnet section 2 containing a rare earth element, a transition element, and boron; and an oxide layer 4 formed at the surface region of the magnet section 2. In the rare earth magnet 1, the content of carbonate is 0.4 μg or smaller in terms of carbon dioxide to a surface area of 1 cm2. COPYRIGHT : (C)2007, JPO&INPIT
