PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a diesel particulate filter which enables a decrease of a PM combustion temperature while suppressing a consumption of a catalyst noble metal by burning PM efficiently. SOLUTION : A particulate oxidation catalyst contains at least one of a zirconium double oxide containing zirconium mainly and at the same time containing rare earth metals excepting cerium and yttrium, and a cerium double oxide containing cerium mainly and at the same time containing alkaline earth metals or rare earth metals excepting cerium.
