PURPOSE : An optical niobium phosphate glass with low transformation temperature is provided to have low transformation temperature and to be employed in applications including mapping, projection, remote communication, optical communication, mobile drive and/or laser technical fields by preparing the glass free from lead, arsenic, gadolinium and fluorine.
CONSTITUTION : The optical glass has refractory index(nd) ranging from 1.86 to 1.95 and Abbe factor(vd) ranging from 19 to 24 and does not contain lead and arsenic elements. The optical glass includes : 14 to 31wt.%% of P2O5; 22 to 50wt.%% of Nb2O5; more than 10 to 25wt.%% of WO3; 5 to 36wt.%% of Bi2O3; 0 to 14wt.%% of GeO2; 0 to 6wt.%% of Li2O; 0 to 6wt.%% of K2O; 0 to 7wt.%% of Cs2O; 0 to 6wt.%% of MgO; 0 to 6wt.%% of CaO; 0 to 6wt.%% of SrO; 0 to 6wt.%% of BaO; 0 to 6wt.%% of ZnO; and 0 to 4wt.%% of TiO2. Total amount of Nb2O5, WO3 and Bi2O3 is not less than 50wt.%%. Total amount of alkaline oxides in the glass ranges from 2 to 12wt.%%. Total amount of alkali-earth oxides ranges from 0 to 10wt.%%. The glass further contains 0 to 2wt.%% of conventional fining agent.
