PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a laser oscillator capable of reducing the variation in the output intensity of a laser beam derived from the position in the core part of a microchip laser medium, and to provide a laser beam machine. SOLUTION : The laser oscillator comprises a plate-shaped microchip 11 wherein a rare earth element is doped in a core part 12, at least one or more laser diodes 41 for emitting a laser beam L1 for excitation of the wavelength belt with which a rare earth element is excited, and two or more optical fibers 50 led to the core part 12 of the microchip 11 from other end side 52A while entering the laser beam L1 for exciting the laser diode 41 from the side of one end side 51.
