PURPOSE : Structured catalysts which are useful in converting alkanes, alkenes and mixtures thereof into corresponding oxides, are prepared in three-dimensional forms for providing increased thermal stability, increased thermal integration and improved mass transfer, and improve alkane/alkene conversion ratios, product selectivities and oxide yields in comparison with corresponding unmodified structured catalysts are provided. CONSTITUTION : A structured catalyst comprises : one or more mixed metal oxide catalysts, each of the catalysts is continuously deposited in irregular order using, as essential elements, a relative amounts of elements represented by a chemical formula. The formula is MoVaNbbXcZdOn, wherein X is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Te and Sb, Z is at least one element selected from the group consisting of W, Cr, Ta, Ti, Zr, Hf, Mn, Re, Fe, Ru, Co, Rh, Ni, Pd, Pt, Ag, Zn, B, Al, Ga, In, Ge, Sn, Si, Pb, P, Bi, Y, Ce, rare earth elements and alkaline earth metal elements, in case of 0.1<=a<=1.0, 0.01<=b<=1.0, 0.01<=c<=1.0 and 0<=d<=1.0 are concluded, and n is determined according to oxidation states of other elements, wherein the one or more metal oxide catalysts are self-supported and further comprise a three-dimensional structure having openings for promoting movements of gas phase reactants and products. © KIPO 2006
