PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide magnetic particles excellent in the electromagnetic conversion performance, its manufacturing method, and a magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION : Particles of 5-50nm in diameter consist of a single crystal of rare earth-transition metal-semimetal. Furthermore, the manufacturing method of the magnetic particles includes a process for producing a quenching thin band consisting of particles of rare earth-transition metal-semimetal.
