PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To manufacture an annular sintered magnet comprising rare earth or the like, the magnet having powerful magnetic force capable of reducing the distortion of a magnetization distribution in a rotational direction, and of reducing cogging torque by changing the shape of the annular magnet axially.
SOLUTION : An apparatus of manufacturing the annular magnet molded structure comprises an annular magnetic dice 80 constructed with a plurality of arched members 81 to 84, a core 93 disposed on an internal peripheral side of the dice 80 for forming a cavity to which magnetic powder is supplied between it and the dice 80, and pressure parts 91, 92 for pressurizing magnetic powder supplied into the cavity from an axial direction. The apparatus includes a portion where a cross sectional shape perpendicular to an axis of an internal peripheral surface of the dice 80 changes in conformity with axial positions. The manufacturing apparatus is used to manufacture the annular sintered magnet by supplying magnetic powder into the cavity, applying a radial alignment magnetic field to the magnetic powder, and pressurizing the magnetic powder in the cavity from the axial direction with the pressure parts 91, 92 to mold and sinter the annular magnet molded structure.
