THERMOLUMINESCENT PHOSPHOR AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a thermoluminescent phosphor capable of sufficiently emitting light even if the addition amount of a rare earth compound is controlled, and a manufacturing method of the thermoluminescent phosphor. SOLUTION : There are mixed 95 mol% of spherical silica having a mean particle diameter of 20 μm and a europium nitrate aqueous solution having been prepared, by dissolving a europium compound in 2 mol/L nitric acid, so as for the supported amount as the rare earth oxide to make 5 mol%, and the mixture is subjected to infrared drying. Then the resultant is baked in the air at 1, 300°C for 2 hours and lightly ground with a mortar to obtain the thermoluminescent phosphor. The sample of the obtained thermoluminescent phosphor is irradiated with X-rays, placed in a black box and heated with a projection lamp. By this, the emission of the light with a peak wavelength at 610 nm resulting from the electron transition of the trivalent europium is observed. COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI
