PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of producing a rare earth magnet in which an R1-T-B system rare earth magnet is used as a precursor and a penetration material is penetrated into the precursor and which therefore has an improved coercive force and a suppressed reduction in magnetization.
SOLUTION : The method of producing a rare earth magnet is provided that includes : bringing an R2-Cu-Fe-Ga alloy (R2 is a rare earth element) into contact with a rare earth magnet precursor comprising an R1-T-B system main phase (R1 is a rare earth element, and T is one or more types selected from Fe and Co), and an R1 rich grain boundary phase present around the main phase to obtain a contact body; and performing heat treatment on the contact body to cause the R2-Cu-Fe-Ga alloy to penetrate into the rare earth magnet precursor.
