FORMING PROCESS OF Dy DOPED NANO-CERIA-BASED SINTERED COMPACT HAVING UNIFORM MICROSTRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a forming method of a Dy-doped ceria-based sintered compact having a dense and uniform structure and having high conductive characteristics based on the treatment of raw materials which do not require a cost in designing of a ceria-based sintered compact which is formed by doping a rare earth elements and has the high conductive characteristics. SOLUTION : The high conductivity is attained by; previously dispersing the starting raw material powder into an alcohol liquid; subjecting the dispersion to an ultrasonic dispersion treatment; drying the dispersion by evaporating the alcohol at room temperature without heating in an inert gaseous current after the end of the treatment to generate Dy-doped nano-ceria powder with relatively less flocculation of particles; using the powder and subjecting the powder to preliminary electrosintering at a prescribed sintering temperature at a temperature rising rate of ≥400°C/minute from room temperature as preliminary sintering, then subjecting the powder to sintering by ordinary pressure sintering, thereby narrowing a particle size distribution within the sintered compact.
