PURPOSE : Provided is a reactive landfill liner for removing contaminants present in leachate, which treats the contaminants more efficiently compared to conventional landfill liners while maintaining effect of preventing movements of leachate. CONSTITUTION : The reactive landfill liner for removing contaminants present in leachate comprises zero(0)-valent iron component. Particularly, the landfill liner is selected from the group consisting of clay liner, geosynthetic clay liner, mixed earth liner, liner based on recycled industrial waste and chemical adsorption liner. The zero(0)-valent iron component is present in the reactive landfill liner in an amount of 25-35 wt% based on the total weight of the liner. The contaminants are at least one selected from the group consisting of chlorine-containing organic compounds, nitric acid-based nitrogen and hexa-valent chrome. © KIPO 2006
