PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an oxidation-resistant composite-structured fiber-bonded type ceramic hardly undergoing thickness decrease by oxidation, e.g. even in a gas turbine, and capable of maintaining high strength for a long time at a high temperature; and its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION : The oxidation-resistant composite-structured fiber-bonded type ceramic comprises the following : a ceramic containing silicon carbide fibers; a silicon oxide layer which is the first layer to the ceramic and contains silicon oxide; and a rare earth silicate compound-oxide layer which is formed on the silicon oxide layer, is the second layer to the ceramic, and contains an oxide containing a rare earth element and silicon.
