PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a production method of a catalyst for asymmetric synthesis which is used for the production of α-amino phosphonic acid derivative. SOLUTION : In the production method of the catalyst for asymmetric synthesis which is expressed by formula (A) : [Ln-X-(R)/(S) binaphtol complex] (wherein Ln is a rare earth element and X is an alkaline metal), naphthol expressed by formula (VR ) or formula (VS ), rare-earth metal alkoxide expressed by formula (VI) : Ln(OR)3 (wherein Ln is a rare earth element and R is alkyl group) and an alkaline metal compound are brought into reaction with each other in a nonaqueous solvent or in an aqueous solvent under nitrogen atmosphere.
