PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare-earth magnet having a high coercive force, and a high residual magnetic flux density (or, a maximum energy product), and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.
SOLUTION : A flaky powder composed of a magnetic material containing a rare earth element (R), for manufacturing a rare-earth magnet containing anisotropically-shaped grains having magnetic anisotropy, and a nonmagnetic grain boundary phase is molded to obtain a molding. Subsequently, hot exclusion of the molding is carried out, and an easy axis of magnetization of the anisotropically-shaped grains is oriented. Hot exclusion of the molding is carried out so that the angle formed by the compression direction while molding and the compression direction during hot exclusion is 5° or less.
