R1, R3 : 1-25C alkyl; R2 : spacer group comprising 1-12C linear or branched alkylene; X, Y1 : -[(C 2H 4O) a]-[(C 3H 6O) b]Z; Z : H, -CH 2-COOM, -SO 3M, -P(O)(OM) 2, -C 2H 4-SO 3M, -C 3H 6-SO 3M or -CH 2(CHOH) 4CH 2OH; M : H, alkaline, alkaline-earth ion, ammonium or alkanol ammonium; a : 0-15; b : 0-10, where the sum of a and b is 1-25; and n : 1-10. An independent claim is included for a use of oyster in a composition to improve the photo-protection properties with regard to UV.
