PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of recovering valuable metal such as rare metal by efficiently recovering a mounted substrate such as a printed wiring board from a home appliance especially from a small home appliance.SOLUTION : The method of recovering valuable metal includes a crushing process of crushing the home appliance by applying impact; a sieving process of sieving and separating the crushed home appliance; a magnetic force sorting process of sorting the crushed home appliance on a sieve into a magnetically attracting material and a non-magnetically attracting material by magnetic force; an eddy current sorting process of sorting the non-magnetically attracting material by an eddy current and sorting into metal material and non-metal material; a color sorting process of sorting the metal material and non-metal material respectively by color, and sorting the mounted board; and a valuable metal recovering process of separating and sorting the mounted board sorted in the color sorting process into a mounted component and a substrate, and recovering the valuable metal from the mounted component.
