FIELD : metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE : invention relates to metallurgy of nonferrous metals and can be used for production of crucibles lined by ceramics for casting of foundry alloys containing vanadium and/or molybdenum. Proposed method comprises forming the crucible from refractory mass prepared at mixing of 5-15%-aqueous solution of soda ash with slag, that is a by-product of aluminothermal process, at the rate of 0.07-0.15%-aqueous solution of soda ash per 1 kg of slag, curing, drying and cooling of crucible. Crucible is dried in curing at 100-150°C for 1.0-1.5 hours, thereafter drying temperature being increased to 600-800°C and curing being performed for 9.5-11 hours. Produced crucible features lining open porosity of about 38-40%, water absorption of about 13-18% and mechanical strength of about 3-10 MPa.
EFFECT : guaranteed durability of lining.
