PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a zeolite absorbent capable of removing a carbonate from a gas stream contaminated by CO2. SOLUTION : An X-type zeolite having a Si/Al ratio of 1.25 subjected to ion exchange with cations of sodium or strontium, and cations selected from groups IA, IIA, and IIIA of the periodic table, or trivalent ions of rare earths or the lanthanoid series and an LSX-type zeolite having a Si/Al ratio of 1 similarly subjected to ion exchange are mixed in an amount of 5 to 95 wt.%, preferably, 50 to 90 wt.%, of the X-type zeolite.
