PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a catalyst for steam-reforming, exhibiting stable catalyst performance even in the case where a fuel atmosphere in which hydrocarbon raw material is supplied and a steam atmosphere in which no hydrocarbon raw material is supplied are repeated at optional intervals, and achieving long service life and high mechanical strength by little carbon deposition at low pressure and low steam/carbon ratio. SOLUTION : The catalyst for steam-reforming includes a bimodal carrier obtained by forming a γ alumina layer with 1-20 mass%, at an external ratio to α alumina, to the α alumina with average pore diameter of 50-80 nm, and a rare earth element oxide and at least one type of active metal selected from nickel and ruthenium, carried on the bimodal carrier. In the pore distribution, a peak exists in each of a region of 10-30 nm and a region of 40-70 nm. COPYRIGHT : (C)2012, JPO&INPIT
