PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a remote excitation light transmission system which can stably obtain a high amplification performance close to a device limit. SOLUTION : With this structure; an excitation light source output is increased, a state just before an oscillation occurs in a signal transmission wavelength band is detected from a state that an oscillation starts to occur in a gain peak band of a rare-earth dope fiber, and the excitation light source output is controlled so as to hold the state. An alternative structure is also disclosed as a developed type. Namely, the excitation light source output is set so that a level intensity ratio in the gain peak band and the signal transmission wavelength band is equal to a predetermined value.
