A seed drill for drilling seed into ridges, e.g. maize, has deep tines (2) and disc harrows (6) to loosen the earth followed by disc harrows (3) to collect organic material into a strip to be covered by ridge forming disc harrows (4) and shaped rollers (5) to prepare the ridges. The seed is dropped into the ridge and secured by following rollers (11). The drill is further fitted with fertilizer dispensers (8). The ridge forming disc harrows are concave. The whole process is completed in one pass.
