PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery that is safe and has a large charge and discharge capacity. SOLUTION : A rare earth element and Fe are added to Al which has capability of lithium storage and release, and then it is made amorphous. And the amorphous alloy so obtained is used for the negative electrode material of the lithium ion secondary battery.
