PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric ceramic which is suitable for composing the dielectric ceramic layer of a multilayer ceramic capacitor and which is excellent in insulation, reliability and capacity aging even if the dielectric ceramic layer is made thin. SOLUTION : The main component of the dielectric ceramic consists of a mixture of a first crystal particle whose composition is exhibited as (Ba, Ca)TiO3 and a second crystal particle whose composition is exhibited as (Ba, Ca)(Ti, A)O3 (wherein, A is at least an element among V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo and W). The ratio of the number of the second crystal particle to the total number of the first and the second crystal particles is 20-80%. The auxiliary components of the dielectric ceramic are an R compound (wherein, R is a rare earth element) and an M compound (wherein, M is at least an element among Mn, Ni, Fe, Cu, Mg and Al).
